Measurement, Installation and Cost Calculation Here is an example calculation of the amount of VersaTile needed to cover a 6 ft X 10ft
deck:
If this were your deck, here is how you would calculate your VersaTile order: The drawing above shows a 6 X 10 foot deck with a wall on one side, railings on two sides and stairs leading up to the deck. As you can see, one side of the deck is open. A surface 10 ft long by 6 ft wide would require 60 sq.ft of tile The wall and railing sides would not need any tapered edge pieces The 6 ft open side would need 6 linear feet of tapered edge pieces The stairs would require two linear feet of tapered edge pieces Materials Calculation: 6 ft X 10 ft = 60 sq.ft of tile side edge pieces (6ft) + stair edge pieces (2 ft) = 8 linear ft of edge pieces Order Calculation: 60 sq.ft of tile @ $2.95 $/sq.ft. = $177.00 8 linear ft of edge pieces @ $.95/ft = $
7.60 Shipping & Tax: Although we calculate the shipping costs for you and send out all orders via UPS Ground - the most economical way to ship, here is an example, so you can estimate the shipping your own costs, if you desire. At 20 sq.ft. per box the total order for the above deck would be 3 boxes of VersaTiles (at 13.5 lbs./box) for a shipping weight of 40.5 lbs The shipping costs for this deck order shipped UPS Ground to a Midwestern state would be $15.22 Assuming a 3% sales tax the total cost for this deck order would be: $184.60 + $5.54 (tax) + $15.22 = $205.36 (to cover the entire deck!) |
